A delegation focused on Swedish higher education and research is scheduled to visit Chennai

Prospective students interested in studying abroad will have the chance to explore study options in Sweden during the upcoming visit of a Swedish higher education and research delegation to Chennai on November 21.

The Study in Sweden fair aims to provide Indian students, particularly those pursuing undergraduate studies, with diverse opportunities for further education in Sweden. Representatives from leading Swedish universities, such as the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the University of Jonkoping, will be available to offer firsthand information about available postgraduate programs.

Additionally, students attending the fair can take advantage of a free counseling session to gather information on scholarships, visa options, and student life in Sweden.

Organized by the Consulate General of Sweden in Mumbai and the Embassy of Sweden in India, along with the Office of Science and Innovation in New Delhi, the consecutive education fairs in Chennai, Mumbai, and New Delhi from November 21-24 aim to facilitate connections between Swedish alumni and prospective students. The Swedish Alumni Network India will participate, providing an opportunity for prospective students to connect with Swedish alumni in India.

The delegation will also engage with leading Indian research institutes, including the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, to explore potential research collaborations and institutional partnerships.

Arun Vasu, Honorary Consul for Sweden in South India, emphasized that in the current climate where international cooperation is crucial, the Swedish Higher Education and Research Delegation aims to foster exchange opportunities for students and researchers between Sweden and India, promoting innovation to benefit both nations.

Highlighting the strong existing relations between Sweden and India in higher education and research, the release mentioned a joint innovation partnership for a sustainable future established since 2018. Over this period, 44 projects have been funded, with an additional 13 projects funded last year.
